Unique Appetizer Board Care & Maintenance

Deep Water Wood Products

From extraordinary wood… an extraordinary story.

Drawn from the depths of our Canadian lakes, our exceptional Deep Water timbers were felled by axe in the late 1800s and moved from first growth forests. They were then transported to lakes and rivers to be floated to their destination, where they were frequently lost to the bottom…..until now.

These once lost treasures have been submerged and perfectly preserved for over a century. They can be up to 500 years old. After recovery we are able to offer you a product that is not only unique, but also rich in history.

We are proud to offer a wide range of products, hand crafted from the finest water-reclaimed timbers in the world. Our unique wood products feature vibrant colour and 3-dimensional texture not found in contemporary wood.

Congratulations on the purchase of your one of a kind water-reclaimed appetizer/serving board. Your board has been submerged a blend of food grade mineral oil and bees wax. The initial care will ensure the long life of the unique reclaimed hardwood product. Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth after use and avoid dishwashers and prolonged soaking of the board in water.

Apply Deep Water Wood Specialty Oil before initial use and frequently to maintain your board’s beautiful finish. As with all hardwood cutting and serving boards, it is important to keep the board well sealed and maintained.

The board can also be hand sanded over time. A 220 grit sandpaper with a light hand sanding will return the smooth, soft finish to the board. Apply oil after each sanding.
